Wake/Orange/Durham County Practice

Hey Wake/Orange/Durham County folks, we’re host a practice at: 1104 Milton Road Durham, NC 27712. It’s on the north side of ridgecrest baptist church (36.103428,-78.914419). Come into the main parking lot, Saturday, 10am. If you can’t make it but plan on playing this season, I need some information from you. Specifically, I need to know:

-What size jersey you need
-What you want it to say on the back (name)
-What number you want
-If there are any colors you find ungodly awful
-If you’re available on the April 28th

Explanation on that last point: we’ve been invited to participate in an exhibition match in greensboro. Think of it like an away game for both teams. If you can’t make it, let me know.

We also need to settle on a team color/mascot/name/etc.

The Start of the 2012 Season

Hey guys.   It is that time of year again and I am jacked.    Two teams are back in action for the 2012 season.   We have a Wake County team and a Harnett County team to square off in shinty matches throughout the upcoming year as well as NC Tartan Day which could be a huge draw for our organization.

First practice for the Harnett team is this Sunday (March 4th) at 4:00PM in Angier Park.   Be there or be square.   It will be a light practice so bring a friend and get reacquainted  with the rules or learn them for the first time.   No level of athletic skill is needed for this fun and lighthearted group.

The Wake Team practice will be announced shortly.

NCSA 2011 Fixture #5 (10-8-2011) FV Tigers vs. Erwin Wolves

Just a quick reminder that today is the last game of the 2011 season for the NCSA.   It starts at 5 at South Park in Fuquay Varina.   Afterwards, we will take pictures and present the McLeod Cup.   Thanks for everyone coming out that could this year and we hope to see you out there.

NCSA 2011 Fixture #4 (9-17-11) Results ESC vs. FVCC

Just a quick update.   The FVCC took the win yesterday by forfeit as the Erwin Shinty Club was unable to field a team.   This result gives the FVCC the points needed to claim the McLeod Cup for the second year in a row.

NCSA 2011 Fixture #4 (9-17-11) FV Tigers vs. Erwin Wolves

When: Saturday 9-17 @ 5:00 PM
Where: South Park, Fuquay Varina

Shinty fans….get ready for the fourth game of the NCSA 2011 season.  We have the Fuquay Varina Camanachd Club led by captain Matt Smith facing off against the Erwin Wolves led by newly appointed captain Dominic Alvarado.   This is for all the marbles.  If the FV Tigers win this one, they have clinched the McLeod Cup two years in a row.  The ESC have got to bring their A-game to stay in the running.

The fixture starts at 5:00 with the national anthem being sung and the throw up will begin at 5:15.  Bring your chairs and wear your colors supporting your club for this exciting shinty match.

NCSA 2011 Fixture #3 (6-11-11) Results ESC vs. FVCC

Just a quick update.  The FVCC took the wins and the points yesterday in the fixture against ESC because of their inability to field a team. 

We are now on summer break and will resume our season in September.

NCSA 2011 Fixture #2 (5-14-11) Results ESC vs. FVCC

A quick congratulations to the Fuquay Varina Tigers for their victory over the Erwin Wolves yesterday 10-4.  The day started out gloomy and turned into a beautiful day for shinty all around.  Thanks to all the players and audience that came out for an exciting shinty match.

A Word from the President- Shinty Fixture for 5-14
